Dr. Alyssa Loveday

Dr. Alyssa Loveday is an Ottawa native who is excited to be back home and practicing veterinary medicine in the community she grew up in. Before beginning veterinary school, Alyssa worked as a veterinary assistant at Algonquin Animal Hospital, making her return to the team especially meaningful.

Alyssa completed the first three years of her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts in the Caribbean, followed by her final clinical year at Oklahoma State University. After several years away from home, she is thrilled to have returned to Ottawa and to continue her career at Algonquin Animal Hospital.

Outside of the clinic, Alyssa spends much of her free time with her five year old dog, Maui. Maui has been by her side throughout her veterinary journey, travelling with her from St. Kitts to Oklahoma and finally home to Ottawa. A St. Kitts native himself, Maui is a very sweet boy and Alyssa's favourite adventure companion.
